David McDowell Bryant
Dave is the founder and Senior Advisor of Patriot Capital Group (PCG). PCG was founded with the belief that individuals deserve access to independent financial advice and customized planning services.
Dave spent the first 10 years of his career working at two prominent investment firms in his hometown of Boston, MA: State Street Global Advisors and MFS Investment Management. In 2012, Dave was promoted to lead the MFS Investment Specialist Group, a team of 12 investment professionals based in the firm’s Atlanta, GA office. In this role, Dave and his team raised assets in MFS investment products and advised Pension and 401k plan consultants.
During the formative years of his career, he witnessed the devastating effects of the 2008 Financial Crisis when millions of Americans lost their jobs, homes, and retirement savings. Dave learned advisors at the big national brokage firms do not provide true custom advice. In fact, these advisors are encouraged to recommend cookie-cutter investments administered in pay-to-play arrangements emphasizing commissions and fees over their client’s true needs.
After a decade of witnessing the “one size fits all” business model, Dave founded PCG as an investment platform designed to be fully independent and truly client centered. Every solution PCG offers to a prospective client is rooted in the firm’s philosophy of research and collaboration while providing each client with individualized plans tailored to their specific needs.
Dave graduated from St. Lawrence University in 2006 with a B.A. in Economics and received his MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. Dave has obtained credentials as Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). Dave has previously passed the FINRA SIE, Series 6, 7, and 63 exams, and currently holds the Series 65 and insurance licenses in over a dozen states.
Dave resides in Brookhaven, GA with his wife Taylor. Together they have two young sons that keep them busy. Dave’s outside interests include Christian missionary work through Edify including travels to Latin America. Dave enjoys traveling, skiing, golf, pickleball, and squash.
